Business Development Intern — Summer 2026

San Francisco (Hybrid) · Remote OKInternship$28–38/hr10 weeks, June 1 – August 10, 2026

About the role

Arcline builds AI-powered data tools that help K-12 school districts turn fragmented student data into clear, actionable decisions. We work with superintendents and district leaders across Alabama, California, Kentucky, Texas, Wisconsin, and more — replacing months of manual reporting with instant, AI-driven answers.

We're a small, AI-native team that ships fast and builds with real users. Our interns ship real work — not busywork.

Selling to school districts is unlike any other sales motion. Cycles are long, relationships matter more than cold outreach, and trust is everything. You'll work directly with our Head of Partnerships to build and manage the pipeline — researching districts, qualifying leads, supporting demos, and helping us land the partnerships that put Arcline in more classrooms.

Day to day

  • Research and identify target school districts based on size, data maturity, funding sources, and strategic fit
  • Build and maintain the outreach pipeline — draft personalized outreach emails, manage follow-ups, and keep the CRM clean and current
  • Support demo preparation — pull district-specific data, build custom talking points, and help tailor presentations for different audiences (superintendents vs. data coordinators vs. IT directors)
  • Monitor education RFPs, grant announcements, and procurement cycles to identify timely opportunities
  • Track and report on pipeline metrics — outreach volume, response rates, demo conversion, and deal progress
  • Join sales calls and district meetings to take notes, track action items, and learn the district sales motion firsthand
  • Research competitive landscape and help position Arcline against other EdTech data tools in the market

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.A. in Business, Education, Public Policy, or a related field
  • Strong written communication — you can write a cold email that a superintendent would actually open
  • Detail-oriented and organized — pipeline management requires tracking dozens of threads across different timelines
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things out — district sales doesn't come with a playbook
  • Able to commit to a 10-week internship from June 1 to August 10, 2026. Based in San Francisco with remote positions also available. Relocation assistance provided for on-site roles

Bonus qualifications

  • Experience in or genuine interest in K-12 education, EdTech, or public sector technology
  • Previous experience in sales, business development, or account management (internship or otherwise)
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) or outreach platforms
  • Understanding of how school districts make purchasing decisions — procurement, RFPs, pilot programs, Title I/ESSER funding
  • Experience working with or in government, school districts, or nonprofits

Compensation

Hourly rate ranges from $28–38/hr. Compensation varies based on role track and experience level.
